Consent of the Governed: Strictures, Constitution & Kink

2022
Delhi / Kassel

Publication design for a series of essay anthologies

Commissioned to design the first two volumes of an ongoing publication series that invites artists, organizers, and kinksters to reflect on positionality, desire, and societal structures. The visual language is shaped by a tension between clarity and resistance — combining expressive typography, layered compositions, and deliberately fragmented structures that mirror the complexity of the subject matter.

Cookie Dough Typeface Design

2021
Tampere

Typographic poster series for a contemporary art exhibition by Laura Rämö

Designed a series of posters using a custom typeface developed from extruded, melting forms — a style I call Cookie Dough typography. The viscous, imbalanced letterforms echo the exhibition’s themes of fluidity, aquatic matter, and bodily transformation, capturing a sense of softness, evolution, and organic instability.

Algorithmic poetification of rejected grant proposals

Co-initiated with Ceyda Berk-Söderblom, re;Verse imagines a space where failed or rejected grant proposals are not discarded, but transformed. Using machine learning and anonymous submissions, the platform upcycles unproduced ideas into community-generated poetry.

Konvolv

2020
Helsinki

Visual identity for a new media art cooperative

Created a custom display typeface for the logotype, designed to express modularity, motion, and interference—qualities that echo Konvolv’s roots in technology, creative learning, and experience design. The identity plays on “convolution” as both a technical and conceptual metaphor, blending functions to create emergent forms.

Trash collage / Exhibition at Aalto / Materiality / Media and ecology

Planned Obsolescence is a policy of planning or designing a product with an artificially limited useful life, so that it becomes obsolete (i.e., unfashionable, or no longer functional) after a certain period of time. The work seeks to bring attention to the practice of planned obsolescence by reclaiming discarded circuits and repurposing them into unplanned forms of newness.

Department of Artsy Words: Predictive writing with A.I.

2019
Espoo

A satirical course catalogue, co-written by a predictive keyboard.

Created using Voicebox by Botnik, this speculative publication was co-authored with a machine-learning keyboard trained on real course descriptions from Aalto University’s Department of Art. The resulting text parodies the tone and language of institutional art writing — generating plausible yet absurd syllabi that reflect on bureaucracy, academic rhetoric, and machine authorship.

The series of posters fetishises nostalgia, inspired by the concept of Anemoia–Nostalgia for a time you've never known.

Bananarama Display

2011
Pune

An elegant grotesque inspired by the humble banana

Bananarama Display–available in two weights, Regular and Light–is a contemporary display typeface inspired by the humble banana. Streamlined yet organic, its curves bulge and dip with deliberate asymmetry, echoing the natural tilt and tension of hanging fruit. With softened angles and a playful sense of imbalance, Bananarama embraces the banana’s sculptural elegance—proof that even fruit can be modernist.
